Bridgewater System Change
Posted or Updated on 12 Feb 2026
Due to a major system change in recent legislation, all surgeries in Scotland will be moving to a software named Vision this year. Your data remains protected under NHS data security standards during this changeover. The week that Bridgewater has been given for this process is the week beginning 09/03/2026.
Unfortunately this process will come with several difficulties. We ask that you bear with us during this week as IT prepare to set this up for us. Please be aware that we:
· Are currently unable to book any appointments beyond the week beginning 02/03/2026.
· Will not be able to receive any test results for that week.
· Will not be able to provide copies of records
· Will not be receiving letters from clinics/hospitals
· Will not be able to take non-emergency bloods.
· Will be unable to issue medications. This also applies to ordering online – It is vital that you ensure you have a supply before the week beginning 09/03/2026.
The surgery will be using an “on the day” only appointment system for emergencies only during this week. We are aware that this is less than ideal but this change is mandatory from the NHS and will only last the duration of 1 week.
What Can I do To Help During This Time?
Please assist us by doing the following:
· Ordering prescriptions early
· Spreading the word about this changeover
· Bringing a list of your current medications to appointments
· Allowing extra time & patience when contacting the surgery
